Overview of Black Eudaimonia: The Documentary

Establishing a Nonprofit in My Twenties: Embracing the Challenges and Opportunities Ahead

Black Eudaimonia is a social community aimed at bridging the gap between the Black community and access to green spaces, including state and national parks. Through our programming, we inspire individuals from across the diaspora to develop a radical love for the natural world, while providing tools and knowledge to cultivate lasting relationships with the outdoors. Our focus encompasses wellness retreats, outdoor recreational events, and sustainability practices, all of which contribute to the collective health and well-being of our community.

As we expand and grow, we are embarking on an exciting journey to formalize Black Eudaimonia as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. To document this transformation, we are producing a documentary that chronicles the process of turning this community-driven initiative into an official nonprofit. The film will capture the challenges, triumphs, and invaluable moments of building an inclusive organization that is rooted in our shared connection to nature.

Through the documentary, we aim to highlight the importance of creating spaces where Black individuals can experience the outdoors, while also telling the story of how this organization came together to serve as a source of empowerment and healing for the community. By showcasing the behind-the-scenes process of becoming a 501(c)(3), we hope to inspire others to take the leap toward creating impactful change and bringing communities closer to the natural world.
